Talented web programmers are available to undertake coding tasks in PHP/MySQL.

Tasks Covered

Your assigned programmer can carry out PHP coding and development tasks such as:

• Building applications from scratch;
• Customizing existing open source applications;
• Maintaining or enhancing your proprietary software;
• And so on.

Please note that programmers are not web designers and so do not carry out graphics tasks. Similarly, our programmers are not able to undertake system administration work.

Skills

We provide PHP programmers with the following profile:

• Clear and effective written English
• Strong troubleshooting skills

Qualifications

Your assigned PHP programmer will have a university-level degree in a related field. Common qualifications include:

• Bachelor of Technology
• Bachelor of Science (Computer Science)
• Master of Computer Applications

Software Available

Your assigned programmer will work on a Linux desktop with the following software installed:

• PHP
• MySQL
• Quanta IDE
• Web browsers (Firefox, Opera)
• Instant messenger (AOL, Yahoo, ICQ and MSN supported)
• Open Office
• Various other standard Linux software packages

Standard, Premium and Gold

We also provide programmers at four different quality levels (including the Zend-certified level) to give you the flexibility to choose the service which best suits you. All programmers are capable of writing effective code. However, programmers at the Premium level have stronger programming skills than those at the standard level, and programmers at the Gold level have stronger programming skills than those at the Premium and standard levels. The higher the level of service plan you choose, the higher the quality and volume of the programming work produced.

Zend Certified Engineers

All programmers working on our Zend Certified Programmer plan are Zend Certified Engineers. Zend Certification is independently administered by Zend Technologies and has gained world-wide recognition as a means of identifying expertise in PHP development.

To achieve Zend certification programers must pass a rigorous test which covers topics such as security, object oriented programming, XML and web services, databases and SQL, streams and network programming, and much more. Interact with your assigned staff

You can interact with your assigned staff via:

• Email - we will notify you of an email address which you can use to directly contact the staff assigned to you. Your assigned staff can also respond directly to you;
  
• Instant messenger - we will provide an instant messenger address at which you can directly contact the staff assigned to you at any time during your daily service period; and
  
• Job Tracker - we provide a task management system in our customer centre which you can use to provide instructions and files to your assigned staff.

Supervision

We provide basic supervision only. That is, we ensure that your assigned staff attend work on time and work diligently while at work.

We do not provide advanced supervision, meaning that we do not oversee the actual tasks undertaken. Rather, you would need to directly interact with your assigned staff to ensure that work is being carried out to your satisfaction. You would also need to be sure to assign sufficient, clearly-defined work and to monitor work progress in order to get as much value as possible out of your paid support period.

Number of Hours Worked

Full-time staff work 8 hours per day (including a meal break) and Part-time staff work 4 hours per day (including a meal break). All Standard-level staff work six days per week (Monday to Saturday). Premium-level, Gold-level and Zend-certified staff work five days per week (Monday to Friday).

Your assigned staff will work exclusively for you throughout your daily service period, and will not be assigned to any other customer during that time.

Shift Times

Our Standard, Premium and Gold staff work during one of the following three shifts:

• 6am-2pm local time
• 2pm-10pm local time
• 10pm-6am local time

Please note too that regular shift rotation is necessary for the health and welfare of our staff servicing Standard, Premium and Gold plans. This means that generally your assigned staff member will change shifts on a monthly basis.

Our Zend Certified Engineers work during one of the following shifts:

• 8am-4pm local time
• 9am-5pm local time

We have staff in both India and the Philippines. The time zone in India is GMT +5:30, and the time in the Philippines is GMT +8:00.
